Eddy Fränkel holds a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology and an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management.

Eddy joined Staatsolie in 1996 as a Mechanical Engineer and has held a wide range of roles across the company's downstream and power activities. These include Operations Manager at the Refinery, Director of Staatsolie Power Company Suriname (SPCS), Power & Sustainable Energy Deputy Director, and project leadership roles for major initiatives including the Tapajai Hydropower Project and the Wageningen Ethanol Project. He was appointed statutory Director Downstream & Power in May 2024. Before joining Staatsolie, he worked as a Development Engineer at Stork Ketels B.V. in Hengelo, the Netherlands.
