Background Information

Through Staatsolie’s Helping Hands programme, a team of Refinery Operators supported O.S. Ephraimzegen with a colourful upgrade ahead of the new school year. The volunteers painted two kindergarten classrooms and the school fence, creating a brighter and more child-friendly environment for the youngest pupils. They also added creative murals, giving the classrooms a cheerful look that was designed with children in mind.

The project went beyond painting. The school also received a new hydrofoor pump with a larger capacity, replacing an older pump that regularly failed. In addition, the classrooms were fitted with new lighting, as the previous lamps did not provide sufficient light and the fixtures needed renewal. These upgrades helped improve both the appearance and functionality of the school environment.

The Helping Hands team worked with creativity, care and enthusiasm to deliver a visible transformation for the school. Their contribution is an example of how Staatsolie employees use their time and skills to support the wider community. By improving learning spaces and basic facilities, the project helped give pupils and teachers of O.S. Ephraimzegen a more pleasant, colourful and inspiring place to learn and work.
